Initially i thought that secondary school students does not need me to collect and mark their work. And i realise that it hinders the learning process as students does not have a motivation to do their work when teachers does not mark them.

Marking students work is a way for me to know if my students understand the lesson, so as for me to improve on my teaching. It is also where i communicate with my students as i put down comments and my feelings on their papers. However, it needs time. But in the money world, this is not the case, as to businessman, it is a waste of time and not productive. Sometimes i am confused, because i know if i mark students work and spend time encouraging them, it helps to bring in more students, but there are no solid proof that this is the reason for increase in enrolment. I always thought that my job is to teach and bring in more students, but today he said he does not want employ ppl to teach and mark only. Why am i here?
